Although we haven’t seen the car out on serious test runs yet, digital artist Theottle has released a speculative render of the Toyota Corolla Cross, incorporating some elements from the Urban Cruiser EV, a smaller electric SUV. The front features the Hammer Head design we’ve seen on the All-new CAMRY, with slimmer LED headlights and a closed-off grille like that of electric vehicles. The side profile and rear have been borrowed from the Suzuki e-Vitara. However, the new Corolla Cross may feature its own unique design, with lines similar to the latest C-HR and C-HR+, while still likely keeping a boxy rear for practicality.
Inside, it’s expected to have larger screens and a layout similar to other models in the brand’s lineup, with a focus on usability and comfort. Additionally, it’s anticipated that the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) will be upgraded for greater accuracy. The new Corolla Cross is likely to continue using the TNGA-C platform with slight improvements. As for the powertrain, Toyota is developing a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which may come in several variants such as turbocharged, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid.
