U.S. automotive media outlet Carscoops has released spy shots of the upcoming BMW X7, which will adopt the brand’s new Neue Klasse design language under the codename G67, and for the first time, it will also include a fully electric version called iX7.
The SUV retains its split dual-headlight layout, with daytime running lights (DRLs) positioned high near the hood line, while the main headlights are housed in more squared units lower down. The iconic twin kidney grille has been redesigned, replacing chrome trim with illuminated light bars, and the lower air intake now features a more rectangular shape.
One of the most noticeable changes is the side profile, which draws inspiration from the latest iX3, featuring more prominent front and rear fenders and a more modern, streamlined design. The door handles are now styled similarly to those on the Ford Mustang Mach-E, and the rear side windows are larger. At the back, the SUV keeps its split tailgate, while the LED taillights are slimmer. M Performance variants will feature quad exhaust tips, while the all-electric iX7 will have a distinctive rear bumper design to emphasize its zero-emission identity.
Inside, BMW will equip the new X7 with its latest Panoramic iDrive system, featuring a large, pillar-to-pillar display positioned beneath the windshield. The screen can be customized to show both driving information and passenger entertainment. It will also include a 3D Head-Up Display and a large central touchscreen for controlling core functions, though the traditional iDrive rotary controller will be removed.
The X7 continues to use BMW’s CLAR (Cluster Architecture) platform, which has been significantly upgraded. It will feature adaptive air suspension, adaptive dampers, and may also offer rear-axle steering and active anti-roll control.
In addition to petrol and diesel engines, the new X7 lineup will, for the first time, include the fully electric iX7, expected to feature a dual-motor setup producing up to 463 hp (345 kW).
