The TrailSport trim was previously available on the Honda Passport, but this year it makes its debut on the CR-V—specifically, the CR-V Hybrid. This makes it the first TrailSport model to feature a hybrid powertrain. The CR-V TrailSport receives adventure-ready design enhancements, with several styling changes to give it a more rugged look. These include front and rear bumpers that resemble real off-road skid plates, TrailSport badging on the grille and tailgate, gloss black door handles, window trim, and spoiler, along with the Ash Green Metallic body color borrowed from the Honda Passport. It also comes equipped with 18-inch Shark Gray alloy wheels designed with recessed valve stems for better protection against rocks and branches when off-roading. These wheels are wrapped in 235/60R18 Continental CrossContact ATR all-terrain tires from the factory. However, unlike the Passport TrailSport, the CR-V TrailSport does not feature a specially tuned suspension or real skid plates—highlighting its less intense off-road intent.
As for powertrain options for the 2026 CR-V:
-
A 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine is available in the LX, EX, and EX-L trims.
-
A 2.0-liter hybrid gasoline engine is offered in the Sport Hybrid, Sport-L Hybrid, Sport Touring Hybrid, and the newly introduced TrailSport Hybrid trim, which slots between the Sport Hybrid and Sport-L Hybrid.
All 2026 CR-V trims now come with a touchscreen measuring at least 9 inches (up from 7 inches in the base models), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger. The TrailSport trim adds even more features, such as heated front seats and steering wheel, a moonroof, a powered tailgate, and a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, which is normally reserved for EX-L trims and above.
