The standard Lexus LBX is already a solid small crossover, but Lexus wanted to give it even more power. So, they fitted it with a 1.6-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine from the GR Yaris and GR Corolla, resulting in the Lexus LBX Morizo RR — a vehicle that combines both performance and luxury. It stands as a direct rival to the Mercedes-AMG GLA 35.
The car was launched in Japan under the name LBX Morizo RR Original Edition. It stands out from the regular Morizo RR with a unique Sonic Chrome exterior finish, accented by vivid yellow highlights on the front bumper and brake calipers. Its overall design closely resembles the concept car Lexus revealed last year and reflects the personal car of Akio Toyoda, Chairman of Toyota.
Lexus will produce just 100 units of the LBX Morizo RR Original Edition, exclusively for the Japanese market. It will not be sold at regular dealerships — those who wish to purchase one must enter a lottery system for the chance to buy.
The LBX Morizo RR is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder gasoline engine, delivering 304 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds. The vehicle features an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system and offers both a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic transmission, similar to the GR Yaris and GR Corolla.
The car sits 10 mm lower than standard, riding on 235/45R19 tires. The front suspension uses a MacPherson strut, while the rear uses a double wishbone setup. Braking is handled by 18-inch ventilated discs at the front and 16-inch discs at the rear. The exterior features a Sonic Chrome and black color scheme with special yellow accents on elements like the fender flares, exclusive 19-inch wheels, redesigned front and rear bumpers, and a distinctive “MORIZO RR” emblem. Inside, the car includes exclusive sport seats, aluminum pedals, and yellow seat belts with the MORIZO RR logo.
