Lucid, the American electric vehicle brand, has confirmed plans to enter right-hand drive markets, beginning with the United Kingdom.
At the recent Munich Motor Show, Lucid made its European debut with the Gravity, its large electric SUV. Lucid CEO Marc Winterhof told the media that a new mid-size electric vehicle currently under development will be sold in the UK. This means the new model will sit below the Lucid Air large sedan and the Gravity SUV in the lineup.
The upcoming SUV is expected to be named the Lucid Earth, and is being developed as a direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y.
Winterhof confirmed that the new mid-size family of vehicles will debut in December 2026, with a starting price of under US$50,000 (approx. 1.59 million THB) — significantly lower than the entry-level Gravity, which starts at US$69,900 (approx. 2.23 million THB).
Although Lucid will initially prioritize left-hand drive markets such as the US, confirmation that the new SUV will be produced in right-hand drive for the UK — and will comply with European safety standards — opens the door for sales in other right-hand drive countries as well.
