The MG IM6 has been awarded a five-star safety rating by Euro NCAP, with detailed scores across the four key assessment areas – Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection, Vulnerable Road Users, and Safety Assist – as follows:

Adult Occupant Protection – 90%
Crash tests covering both frontal and side impacts showed that the MG IM6’s passenger compartment remained stable, offering excellent protection to the driver and passengers in all seating positions. The vehicle’s comprehensive airbag system – including front and side airbags – helped to mitigate impact forces, while the front seats and head restraints provided effective whiplash protection in rear-end collisions. Additionally, the doors can be unlocked in the event the vehicle becomes submerged.

Child Occupant Protection – 85%
In both frontal and side impact tests, the MG IM6 delivered excellent protection for all critical body regions of the child dummies representing six- and ten-year-old children. The front passenger airbag can be deactivated to allow for the installation of a rearward-facing child restraint in that position. Vulnerable Road Users – 83%
The MG IM6’s safety systems are designed to reduce impact forces in the event of a collision. Its Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system can detect and respond effectively to pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists, while also protecting occupants of vehicles behind and other road users. The MG IM6 is also equipped with a surround-view camera system to help prevent doors from being opened into the path of oncoming bicycles or motorcycles on the driver’s side.

Safety Assist – 87%
The AEB system performs well with surrounding vehicles, while seatbelt reminders are fitted for both front and rear seating positions. The Direct Driver Monitoring System helps assess the driver’s status, and the Emergency Lane Keeping system actively intervenes to steer and stabilize the vehicle when it departs from its lane, particularly in critical situations. The MG IM6 also features Adaptive Cruise Control to assist with speed management.
