SAIC Motor-CP Co., Ltd. and MG Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the manufacturer and distributor of MG vehicles in Thailand, have risen to the Top 5 in the Thai automotive market, recording total sales of 27,007 units in 2025, up 57% year-on-year.
In 2026, MG plans to clearly expand its electric vehicle portfolio, starting at the Motor Show with the launch of the MG IM5 in the premium EV segment, alongside the NEW MG MAXUS 9 MCE in the e-MPV segment and the NEW MG4 ELECTRIC minor change. In the second quarter, the company plans to introduce a new B-segment EV for the mass market, as well as a new hybrid model within the year. In 2027, MG aims to launch a total of five new models, emphasizing that it will not simply increase the number of models, but will introduce “the right product, in the right segment, at the right time.”
For 2026, the company targets 30,000 units in sales and a 5% market share, with a long-term ambition to become a Top 3 automotive brand in Thailand within its second decade of operations.
Last year, 80% of MG’s total sales came from electric vehicles, while 20% were from internal combustion engine and hybrid models. Key contributors included the NEW MG4 ELECTRIC, NEW MG S5 EV, and MG IM6. Meanwhile, ICE and hybrid models such as the MG5 and ALL NEW MG3 HYBRID+ continue to support customers transitioning toward electric mobility.
In 2026, MG will move forward with four core strategies: long-term brand elevation; comprehensive product development across all technologies under a Dual Track strategy; implementation of a GLOCAL strategy that combines global standards with deep understanding of the Thai market; and a focus on sustainable, high-quality growth.
On the aftersales side, MG aims to expand its service network to 130 centers nationwide, implement an e-Workshop system with real-time data connectivity, and enhance customer convenience through appointment scheduling and service status tracking via LINE OA. The company will also manage parts supply through a 24-hour express ordering system to further improve long-term customer satisfaction.
