Suzuki has unveiled the latest Suzuki Across for the European market. The SUV is based on the Toyota RAV4, featuring revised badging while retaining the same plug-in hybrid powertrain.
For the latest version, Suzuki has revised the design to more closely resemble the Toyota RAV4 Adventure, differing from the previous Across which adopted styling from the China-market Toyota Wildlander. Suzuki has also dropped the Core and GR Sport trims, opting instead for the rugged Adventure styling. Additionally, the Adventure grille design makes it easier to accommodate the larger Suzuki emblem without requiring further design changes.
The SUV measures 4,600 mm in length and comes equipped with 18-inch dark gray alloy wheels. Exterior color options include Massive Gray, Ever Rest, Super White, and Attitude Black. Since it shares its platform with the RAV4, most RAV4 accessories are fully compatible with the Across.
Inside, the cabin layout remains identical to the RAV4, with the main difference being the Suzuki badge on the steering wheel. Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display, 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless phone charging, five USB-C ports, and a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems.
The Suzuki Across is offered exclusively as a plug-in hybrid. It combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with dual electric motors, producing a combined output of 300 hp. Power is delivered through an E-CVT transmission and Suzuki’s E-Four all-wheel-drive system, with selectable driving modes including Normal, Eco, Sport, and E-Four Trail.
While Suzuki has not yet disclosed the official WLTP electric driving range, the European-spec RAV4 PHEV can travel up to approximately 100 km on electric power using a 22.7 kWh battery pack. The Suzuki Across accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, slightly slower than the RAV4, which achieves the same sprint in 5.8 seconds.
The new Suzuki Across made its debut in the Netherlands and is expected to expand to additional European markets later this year. Pricing has not yet been announced. Once launched, it will compete in the mid-size SUV segment against rivals such as the Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, Mitsubishi Outlander, Nissan X-Trail, Peugeot 5008, Skoda Kodiaq, and Volkswagen Tayron.
