Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has officially launched the minor change version of the Nissan Serena in Japan, expanding the lineup with two new variants: AUTECH LINE and Multi Box. The updated range is scheduled to go on sale from mid-February onward.
As part of this update, Nissan has refreshed the exterior design of the LUXION and Highway Star V grades, while the LUXION also gains a newly designed, grade-specific interior. Three new exterior colors have been added across all variants. On the technology front, the Serena is now equipped with the latest NissanConnect infotainment system with Google integration, along with an upgraded Intelligent Around View Monitor to enhance safety and driver confidence.
In terms of styling, both the LUXION and Highway Star V feature newly designed front grilles and alloy wheels. The LUXION emphasizes a more luxurious and premium image, highlighted by seats upholstered in next-generation Tailor Fit material that offers a soft, supportive feel. Meanwhile, the Highway Star V adopts a sportier design to enhance the vehicle’s bold and robust presence. All variants now offer three new body colors: Moonbow Blue, Aqua Mint, and Deep Ocean Blue, providing customers with more choice.
On the functionality side, the Serena supports NissanConnect with Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play. It also features smartphone notifications to alert the driver if the doors are left unlocked, hazard lights remain on, or windows are left open, as well as the Remote Photo Shot function that allows remote vehicle monitoring. A 15.6-inch rear-seat monitor is available as an option. Additional enhancements include an e-Pedal Step function that remembers the previously selected mode, and a rear-seat reminder that activates when the engine is turned off to help reduce the risk of leaving belongings or children inside the vehicle.
Driver assistance systems have also been enhanced to support a wide range of driving situations, including parking, narrow roads, and intersections. The Intelligent Around View Monitor now adds new functions such as a 3D View for a three-dimensional surround image, Front Wide View to improve visibility to the front left and right at blind intersections, and Side Mirror Closed View, which displays side images even when the mirrors are folded, further improving convenience and safety.
The Serena AUTECH LINE comes equipped with metallic-finish door mirrors, exclusive 16-inch dark metallic silver alloy wheels, and a dark chrome front grille, giving the vehicle a more refined, layered, and subtly sporty appearance. Inside, it features the new Tailor Fit seat material, which offers a soft and snug feel. In addition to the seven-seat configuration, this upholstery is also available on the eight-seat variant, expanding customer choice.
The “Multi Box” variant features a two-row, five-seat layout and is equipped with a large-capacity storage box in the rear cargo area, which can be used as both a bench and a table. The storage box can be opened from the top and sides for easier access, and includes adjustable internal partitions to help organize cargo. An optional bed mat made from durable, water-resistant CORDURA fabric is also available, allowing the Serena Multi Box to be used fully as a car-camping vehicle.
