Perodua Traz has been officially launched in Malaysia, offered in two variants:
-
X variant – RM76,100 (approximately THB 580,000)
-
H variant – RM81,100 (approximately THB 625,000)
The Traz is powered by the 2NR-VE 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with DOHC and Dual VVT-i, producing 106 PS at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. It is paired with a D-CVT (Dual-Mode CVT) automatic transmission. The fuel tank capacity is 42 litres, and the claimed fuel consumption is 21.3 km/l.
The D-CVT is a split-gear CVT system that distributes power between a belt drive and a gear drive. From a standstill up to low-to-mid speeds, it operates like a conventional CVT, sending power through a torque converter into the pulleys and belt. At higher speeds, the system switches to the gear drive to reduce energy loss and lower belt rotation load for more efficient power transfer.
