Japanese company Advance Design Technology has announced plans to officially enter the parallel-import vehicle business, with its first offering being the Thai-built Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. Sales of the pickup truck are scheduled to begin in Japan on July 1, 2026.
The move comes amid growing demand for pickup trucks in Japan following Isuzu Motors' withdrawal of the D-Max from its domestic lineup. With the model no longer available through official channels, Advance Design Technology aims to fill the gap by importing vehicles directly from Thailand for Japanese customers.
The vehicle being offered is the 2026 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, positioned as a next-generation premium pickup truck. Power comes from Isuzu's 3.0-litre 4JJ3-TCX Euro 5 four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, producing 190hp and 450Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive (4WD) system.
Equipment highlights include an electronic traction control system and a comprehensive suite of ADAS driver-assistance technologies. Exterior features include a blacked-out grille and full LED lighting, while the cabin is equipped with a large infotainment display, premium seating, and Isuzu's Smart Connect connectivity system.
Advance Design Technology says delivery time is approximately three months from the date of order. Pricing has been set at ¥10 million before taxes, equivalent to around THB 2.06 million.
