Spy shots of the Lexus LFR have been revealed by U.S. automotive media outlet Carscoops. The car was spotted benchmarking against the Mercedes-AMG GT-R and GT Black Series, with three different prototypes undergoing testing at the Nürburgring. One of them is a standard version designed for street use. There is also a track-focused model equipped with a carbon fiber front lip, canards, and a large rear wing, along with unique vents above the front wheels. Sitting between the two is a more moderate variant featuring a smaller rear wing, without the front lip, and with fewer canards.
The LFR appears to be a blend of the LFA and the Sport Concept. At the front, it features an aggressive bumper with three large intakes and fang-like elements in the center, complemented by a ram air hood and slender headlights. On the sides, there are large fender vents and chunky side skirts. At the rear, the car is fitted with scoops, a prominent rear spoiler, lightweight alloy wheels with a high-performance braking system, and a quad exhaust setup integrated into a ventilated rear fascia.
Inside, the cabin adopts a minimalist approach with supportive sport seats, a freestanding infotainment screen, a dedicated climate control panel, and toggle-style switches. A compact minimalist gear selector and a fully digital instrument cluster are also expected.
Powertrain details remain unclear, but hybrid components have been spotted through the rear window. These are believed to work in conjunction with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 producing 720 hp (537 kW / 730 PS). This could potentially give the model a combined output of up to 900 hp (671 kW / 912 PS), although these figures remain speculative at this stage.
