Automotive media outlet Carscoops has released spy shots of a new three-row variant of the Mercedes-Benz GLC. The prototype was spotted parked next to the standard model, retaining the familiar design language but featuring several noticeable changes: a flatter roof, redesigned rear doors, and a unique rear-end exclusive to the three-row version. The rear section appears to be extended with a more upright tailgate. Camouflage pieces also indicate larger rear-side windows and a new D-pillar design.
In addition to the distinct body changes, this variant includes Starry Headlights, full-body protective cladding, a recognizable front grille, and Light Bar taillights with circular patterns.
Although interior images have not yet surfaced, it is expected to come equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch infotainment display. Customers will also be able to upgrade to the MBUX Superscreen, which adds a 14-inch passenger display, or the flagship 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen spanning the entire width of the dashboard.
In terms of performance, the model is expected to use dual electric motors paired with a 94 kWh battery, producing up to 490 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. The standard two-row version can reportedly accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, reach a top speed of 210 km/h, and deliver up to 673 km of WLTP-certified electric range.
As for the new three-row body style, it is believed to be developed primarily for the Chinese market, although there is strong potential for it to be offered in other regions as well, as three-row SUVs are increasingly in demand worldwide.
