Ford Everest narrowly beat its rival, the Toyota LandCruiser Prado, in April sales, delivering just one more unit (2,234 vs. 2,233). However, Toyota still holds a significant lead in year-to-date sales, with the LandCruiser Prado reaching 10,674 units so far in 2025, compared to 7,220 units for the Ford Everest. Still, this marks a small victory for Ford, considering that the new LandCruiser Prado was only launched in Australia late last year. It’s also worth noting that this was the first time the LandCruiser Prado was dethroned as the top-selling large SUV in Australia.
So far in 2025, the Prado and Everest continue to dominate the top two spots in the large SUV market, while the Isuzu MU-X trails in a distant third with just 4,142 units delivered year-to-date. Isuzu delivered 1,233 MU-X units in April, reflecting a sales decline of 34.8% year-on-year and 38.5% year-to-date.
Here’s a snapshot of the 2025 sales performance so far for the top three large SUVs in Australia:
