BYD Racco has officially revealed its interior in Japan as it moves closer to its market launch. The model is scheduled to go on sale this year with a starting price of approximately 2.5 million yen (around 509,000 baht).
Inside, the BYD Racco follows a typical kei car architecture, featuring a gear selector mounted on a short center console. The front seats are positioned closely together. However, earlier spy shots indicated that the vehicle will also include a small armrest.
The BYD Racco is equipped with a floating touchscreen display and an LCD instrument cluster, along with physical buttons for climate control. It also includes 12V, USB, and Type-C charging ports. The center console provides upper storage space and a glove compartment, as well as additional storage located in the center tunnel.
Like other kei cars, the Racco features a tall windshield to improve driving visibility. It also comes with a three-spoke steering wheel with functional control buttons. Additional features include sunshades, power windows, electrically adjustable side mirrors, and heated front seats. The seats are upholstered in white synthetic leather, and there is also a sunglasses holder on the driver’s side.
The second-row seats of the BYD Racco have not been officially revealed. However, they were previously spotted during a product presentation in Japan. The rear section offers two seats with adjustable headrests. Another highlight is the sliding rear doors on both the driver and passenger sides.
The BYD Racco is a compact urban electric vehicle powered by a single front-mounted electric motor producing 27 PS. It uses an LFP battery supplied by FinDreams, a subsidiary of BYD. The vehicle offers a WLTC-rated driving range of approximately 180 km and supports DC fast charging at up to 100 kW.
BYD plans to launch the Racco in Japan during the summer or autumn of 2026, with a starting price of around 2.5 million yen (approximately 509,000 baht).
