Punthai Coffee Co., Ltd. has teamed up with Multiplex Co., Ltd. in the Lao PDR, the official franchisee of the “Pun Café” brand in Laos, to open two new locations in Savannakhet and Ban Hongkae. These expansions follow the Café & Restaurant concept, aiming to create community hubs. The first branch, located at the Vientiane high-speed rail station, has already seen its sales double. The company plans to reach four branches in Laos by 2025.
Ms. Juraiwan Yuan, Senior Director of Business Development at Punthai Coffee, stated that the coffee market in Laos is growing, especially among working professionals, tourists, and foreign investors. While most Lao people still cook at home, the trend of dining out—especially in major cities—is steadily growing. Pun Café has received strong customer feedback for its food quality, friendly service, and a setting that resonates with modern lifestyles.
Ms. Inklada Chaicharoensap, Director of Multiplex Co., Ltd., added that the new Ban Hongkae branch is designed as a Community Hub, offering a full range of food and drinks from morning to evening, private meeting rooms, power outlets, and free Wi-Fi in a modern atmosphere. Located in the heart of the city near shopping centers and government offices, the branch is strategically placed. The next location is set for Ban Nong Bon in Vientiane Capital, targeting an area surrounded by government offices and international schools. A central kitchen will support food quality and future expansion.
Pun Café Ban Hongkae is open daily from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, serving signature drinks, all-day breakfast, baked goods, sandwiches, spicy salads, rice dishes, spaghetti, and soon, local favorites like Khao Piak Sen. Premium merchandise such as tumblers and bags will also be available. The café can seat over 40 guests across indoor and outdoor areas, with an 8-seat meeting room, parking, and free Wi-Fi. Future plans include snack box catering and off-site booth services.
