Aston Martin unveils the DBX S — the brand’s high-performance SUV, boasting an impressive 900 Nm of torque.

Aston Martin has launched the DBX S, incorporating direct technology from the brand-new supercar Valhalla into the engine of this SUV. Power is increased from the base model, weight is reduced, and the design is sharper. The ‘S’ suffix indicates a special model with higher performance than the standard version, with the first to use this name being the Vanquish S.

In terms of design, the front of the DBX S features an all-black vertical slatted grille, with an optional upgrade to a lightweight polycarbonate grille with a honeycomb design inspired by the DBS 770 Ultimate. A new splitter and diffuser, along with wraparound Daytime Running Lights, enhance the assertive look. On the side, the side skirts come with distinctive upturned air splitters, helping control and direct airflow along the body efficiently. Carbon fiber parts are optionally available for the side mirrors, side vents, and lower door skirts. The ‘S’ badge on the front fenders is made from solid metal. At the rear, there are vertically stacked quad exhaust pipes, available in both gloss and matte finishes. The rear bumper and diffuser have been completely redesigned, with carbon fiber available for the bumper, side skirts, and spoiler to help reduce vehicle weight by another 7 kg. Additionally, the DBX S introduces a new lower body livery design available in 3 colors: Rosso Corsa Red, Trophy Silver, and Podium Green. This livery highlights the front splitter, diffuser, and side skirts, continuing to the rear of the vehicle.

As for the powertrain, the DBX S comes with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that has been improved from the previous model, paired with a 9-speed wet-clutch automatic transmission. Turbocharger technology has been directly transferred from the upcoming Valhalla supercar, including the use of larger compressor wheels and other internal upgrades, resulting in an increase of 20 horsepower (PS) to a total of 727 PS. The 0–100 km/h acceleration time is just 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 310 km/h.

In addition to the power boost, the vehicle’s kerb weight has been reduced. For example, the new optional carbon fiber roof, nearly 3 square meters in size, can be specified. Choosing the carbon roof also removes the roof rails, and together these components reduce weight by up to 18 kg. Customers can also opt for magnesium wheels. When selecting the 23-inch magnesium wheels, the unsprung mass is reduced by an additional 19 kg.

Aston Martin DBX S Dimensions

  • Length: 5,039 mm

  • Width: 1,998 mm

  • Height: 1,680 mm (including roof rails)

  • Wheelbase: 3,060 mm

Inside, the DBX S features an exclusive ‘S’ theme, highlighted by a herringbone pattern on the seats, which extends to the headliner if the carbon fiber roof is selected. The herringbone lines widen as they move up the seatback, creating a visual sense of speed. The cabin is trimmed in Alcantara across the seats, headliner, center console, lower dashboard, and upper trim. High-contact areas like seat bolsters combine Alcantara with semi-aniline leather for durability and luxury. Customers can also choose to have the interior fully upholstered in semi-aniline leather. Custom seatbelt colors are available as well.

The DBX S comes standard with the Aston Martin Premium Audio system, offering 800 watts of power and 14 speakers, supporting surround sound mode with QuantumLogic® sound processing. Customers can upgrade to a system developed with Bowers & Wilkins, acoustically engineered for the DBX S cabin. This 1,600-watt surround system includes 23 speakers, dual amplifiers, 3D overhead speakers, dedicated bass drivers, and a subwoofer.
